Caliban Books specialises in history books, with a particular focus on first-hand accounts of personal experience, readable in their own right, but also invaluable as source material for historical study. We have published books in a number of areas; notably working class autobiography, but also accounts of travel and exploration, and historical narratives of revolutionary situations such as the English Civil War.

The emphasis on the radical and the transformative is embodied in our Caliban logo, a metaphor for the physically disenfranchised liberated by the acquisition of literacy.
